Patty Taylor

I have been selling commercial properties and businesses since 2008 with my speciality being service stations. Before becoming a broker, I operated multiple service stations from metropolitan to regional areas with different types of operations, for example, large truckstops, depot fronts and service stations with multinational tenants like McDonald’s.

Being employed by BP and Caltex distributors I gained extensive experience by working under these two major oil companies branding and franchise requirements. I also worked for Neumann Petroleum being their retail /business development manager to their service station network which consisted of over 40 services stations Queensland wide.   Neumann Petroleum purchased Matilda which in turn was sold to Puma Energy. My extensive background in the fuel industry (retail and wholesale) gives me the knowledge and experience that no other broker in Australia can provide.

I am not limited to selling service stations and have sold mechanical workshops, car washes and general businesses. To successfully sell any business it is vital to have a complete understanding of all aspects of the business – financially and operationally.  Presenting a professional and ethical image is important to me and instils trust from not only Sellers but also the Buyers.

I was born in Brisbane and educated in Brisbane, Wellington and Auckland. I have worked and lived in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Taiwan and Namibia.

Over the past 25 years I have held directorships in large international organizations which focused mainly on “full facilities management”, “purchasing and logistics” and “manufacture and distribution mainly into retail and food service markets”. I have successfully worked as a consultant within the toll road, tourism, supply/logistics environment, and the leisure and food service industry. I have completed feasibility studies and advised on the partnering and/or acquisition phases of targeted businesses.

I have been very successful in devising plans for the marketing and positioning of large organizations, which have the express intention of incorporation, or selling all, or part of their interests. On my return to Australia in 2001 I became a “Certified Practising Business Broker” holding licences in several states and am a member of the Australian Institute of Business Brokers and the Business Brokers Chapter of the REIQ.

In December 2003 I became a founding director/shareholder of Business Sales Australia” which is now a dominant brokerage in Queensland and northern NSW and well regarded for its professional standards.

I was born and bred on the northern beaches of Sydney and educated at Christian Brothers Manly. I commenced my career in the banking industry with (NBA) which later became NAB for 13 years.

From there I opened from scratch my own businesses in Newcastle, a video store and a supermarket both of which I ran successfully for 11 years.

I moved with my family to the Gold Coast in 2001 and was offered an opportunity in Business Broking. I have been involved in the industry ever since and have been successful selling many businesses during this time.

I specialize in all areas of business sales with recent successful sales being within the Manufacturing, Distribution, Licensed Post Offices, Serviced Offices, Traffic Control and Hospitality Industries.

I was born, educated and started my career in Sydney while I have lived and worked in Canberra, Melbourne and the Gold Coast.

My business career involved 20 years in the printing industry with both private and public companies where I held various national sales and marketing roles. For 5 years I was owner /operator of a specialised printing business before forming a Point of Sale Marketing company supplying the retail sector. This became a very successful business before I sold out to a larger competitor.

In more recent times I have been in general manager roles within national wholesale distribution networks primarily involved in industrial fabrics and hardware. At various stages I have spent time lecturing on small business management at the NSW TAFE. Overall I have a broad range of practical experience and I understand what it is like to be in business for yourself.

I have many years experience as a business broker starting in 1999,after having owned a Caravan Park & Service Station for 13 years it was logical that as a broker I should work in the industry that I had the most experience.  During my career as a broker I have worked in many areas of general business as well as Caravan Parks, Motels and Backpackers.

In 2001 after assisting an owner of four Self Storage facilities to sell down 3 of their holdings, I soon made it my goal to understand and learn the self storage industry.
